Avanti Nagral is a Performing Artist and Singer/Songwriter from the soul of Bombay and the heart of Boston. She combines her experience across various genres – Indian Classical, Broadway, Church/Gospel and Devotional – into a modern Pop-Soul sound, woven through her global experiences and multicultural identity. She released her debut single, ‘I Like’, in June of 2017, along with the first Virtual Reality Music Video in South Asia, directed by acclaimed director Blake Farber, who has worked with artists like Beyonce and brands like Nike.
Avanti was Best Actress nominee at the National Theater Awards in India, for her lead role of Agnes in the reproduction of the 1982 Broadway Play ‘Agnes of God’ in India. She has performed concerts and events at venues across India, the US and the Philippines, been interviewed on leading radio stations, and been featured in publications like The Times of India, Bombay Times, Mid-Day, NDTV, DNA, Indian Express and HerCampus, among others.
Avanti is also one of the first to pursue a dual degree between Harvard University and the Berklee College of Music.
She is also passionate about Global Health and Empowerment. Avanti has done work in the fields of Music Therapy, Anemia, Organ Donation, Cardiac Disease, Cardiac Disease, CPR/Emergency Care and Mental Health, through research, advocacy and creating initiatives. In 2013, she founded YCPR, a Youth Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation campaign which empowers the youth to help save lives within their communities. She launched an educational tour at schools across India this past June, conducting performance-cum-workshops, and sharing her journey in hopes to encourage students to pursue their own versions of passion and purpose, and is launching one in the US and other parts of the world soon!
